The Nickel Plate Mine was one of the oldest, longest producing gold mines in British Columbia. The Hedley Mascot Mine, high on the cliffs above Hedley, was one of our richest producing gold mines. The mining methods used at these mines is the history of hard rock mining in Southern British Columbia. This is the story of the people who lived and worked at the mines.
