Mountain Machines

Sara Leach

Children love this whimsical view of the mountain machines that run a ski resort!

The vibrant illustrations of gondolas, groomers, bull wheels and pipe dragon--each with a personality of its own--delight young ones fascinated by snow and winter activities. Marty Marmot observes the fun as readers count down and name the machines cavorting in the snow.

This is a lively book for little ones to learn numbers and new vocabulary, as well as for anyone who enjoys snow, snow sports, winter or machines.

About the Author:

Sara Leach lives in Whistler, BC. She and her family love to ski, hike and bike on thte local mountains. She is the author of Jake Reynolds: Chicken or Eagle? published by Orca Books. She learned all about big machines from her two-year-old son.

The illustrator, Steven Corvelo, is an artist and writer living in Pasadena, California with his wife, their four-year-old son and eleven-year-old Welsh Corgi. He enjoys visiting snowy places, but believes snow and cold weather should be optional.
