Making Hay While the Sun Shines
Hap and Edna Ride Again
Bob Collins

Fans of the farm genre of writing will look forward to Bob Collins' continuing adventures of Hap and Edna Fitzpatrick. First introduced in his award-winning book, Out Standing in Their Field, Hap and Edna are finely tuned to the wit, wisdom and joie de vivre of their rural locale. Their lives are richly woven into the fabric of a community populated with colourful and endearing characters, both human and animal.

In Making Hay While the Sun Shines, Hap and Edna continue to revel in the events and everyday humour that colours their world. Told with Collins' trademark humour, the stories revolve around an unusual cast of characters who are often unconventional, sometimes absurd, always fascinating, and invariably entertaining. Among the many characters introduced in Collins' new book are a precocious pig named Pansy, a horse training con-man and incorrigible neighbours whose two month summer vacation is finaced by unwitting real estate agents.

About the Author

Bob Collins writes from a big cluttered desk in a small cluttered office in the Alberni Valley on Vancouver Island, BC. He does so between uncontrollable fits of farming, when it's too wet to plough and the cows haven't broken the fence down again. His first book of Hap and Edna stories, Out Standing in Their Field, was short-listed for the Stephen Leacock prize in 2001. His third title, Summer of Wonder: The Misguided Romance of Hap Fitzpatrick, was short-listed for the same prize in 2005. Making Hay While the Sun Shines is his fourth book.
