This novel explores the tumultuous relationship between two people - Janine and Fred - whose lives are forever altered through the mysterious appearances of Weesquachak.

Rubby Slipperjack, a member of the Eabametoong First Nation in northwestern Ontario, was born and raised on her father's trap line at Whitewater Lake, Ontario. She is a professor at Lakehead University, where she currently holds the Chair of the Department of Indigenous Learning.
