On her 66th birthday, Janice Kenyon was in the midst of an 8,321 km odyssey to bicycle across Canada, the world's second-largest country. The ride followed byways and sideroads on the north side of the US border, with routes taken to avoid the Trans-Canada Highway wherever possible.
